lightbringer automation
Lightbringer Automation (LBA) believes the farmer is at the center of the present and future “smart farm”. Farmers cultivate themselves over decades and sometimes over generations to become effective agents for the land to build soil and grow healthy crops.
Farmers can never be replaced. The amount of information held and observed by farmers is massive. This results in an intuition regarding farm operations based on the information available. Effective tools in the hands of a skilled farmer yield a high return on time and effort.
LBA products are simple, straightforward tools to enable the farmer to extend their influence over the farm and receive back the information they need.
LBA controllers are the industry’s first agricultural controller designed from the ground up for remote, on-farm applications. By utilizing solar and wireless technology, LBA controllers can enable farmers to monitor, control and automate processes in many challenging environments. These labor-saving devices reduce management/labor costs, improve crop health and increase operation profitability.
Where did we come from?
The first germinations of Lightbringer emerged in 2017 when Dan began renting an old greenhouse to grow specialty produce for restaurants. The greenhouse was beautiful with motorized vents, shade cloth and fans. Unfortunately, the control system which knitted all the pieces together had been damaged. All the motors and switches worked, but using them involved running around the house and flipping them one way or another. This was laborious and nearly impossible to deal with. Dan decided to implement wireless switches throughout the greenhouse which connected all the devices to his phone and, eventually, to a cloud controlled system. Seeing the power of this improvement, he decided it was worth developing to share.
